  • Bitbucket exploit - Patch time Security.
  • It does talk about relocating the data source in the db.ini and maybe I could tweak for this purpose. I have not tried this yet, but will, since it relocates the database to a central location and tells you what you need to do to point the DB.ini to it.

There is an install that you can get from ProNest, that I have, that sets up a shared DB. I will keep hunting because this is annoying. Something starting/accessing the database is looking to either the local user's profile or something in that database file. This did not resolve my problem, However, take note that if you log on locally, then switch user over to the domain account, without logging out the other, ProNest will run! If you log out of the local account, pronest will not start, but if you run-as-different-user you can get ProNest to start under the domain account. I was thinking this may be a permissions issue so I created a group called ProNest Users, added my domain account as a member and gave it rights to the pronest directories. I had those same errors while trying to repair the install and a reboot allowed the local account to then start the program. If you install the app on the local system under an account with admin rights, it works fine. ProNest is a real pain to find support for online and very expensive to get help for from them. You would have to try and find the SQL installation logs generated by the SQL Server 2012 Express LocalDB installation to see more information on the error (such as trying to attach a corrupt database that was not recreated since the older one may still be there after an 'uninstall').Īre you able to try installing on a freshly installed system? If you are using VMs, this should be easy.ĭid you ever resolve this? I have used this program for a few years and have the same problem after migrating to a domain. I would not be surprised if you still have something sticking around after the 'uninstall' process that is stopping your re-installation of ProNest.

Just so you know, uninstalling MS SQL (any version) rarely actually succeeds in removing everything related to SQL. The software starts to install it gets to a point with it creates a "ProNest Instance" then hangs on "Attaching Database" it eventually fails saying "Unknown Error (2)". It installs SQL Server 2012 Express LocalDB / Native Client. I tried uninstalling the software and ALL versions of SQL.
